"....the
Bayanihan Philippine Dance Company
epitomizes Filipino artistic excellence in
terms of individual skills, group virtuosity
and in entire national tradition in
performing arts. The Bayanihan was main
feature of Fiesta Philippine in London."

Bayanihan
never ceases to relive the past. In the
footstep of their ancestor who danced to
celebrate the gods, giving life to the
sacred tribal myths or by expressing through
simple natural body language the marvels of
the world surrounding them, the Bayanihan,
with Mariposa, danced an imitation of the
movements of butterflies or Tinikling,
mimicking the bird whom the villagers try to
catch in the rice field and celebrating with
every step the miracle of nature
All the
delicate sentiments of the Eastern
civilization deeply expressed with a
refinement and smiles could be seen again in
Banga-Salidsid where, to celebrate a
marriage, the young girls balanced water
pots on their heads, or Pandanggo sa Ilaw, a
graceful display where the dancers swayed
with oil lamps in their heads, illuminated
against the night sky of Monaco.
A very
special night here the delicate accents
bloomed like in an enchanted garden: the
rose offered to Prince Rainier, the finale
interpreting "A la balle Fontaine", with
invisible warmth, sacred and infinite,
radiating from the heart.
A moving
evening in all respects.
